Mainz are a much-improved side now as they head into the spring with the visit of an entertaining Stuttgart side to the Mewa Arena on Saturday afternoon.

Kick-off date/time:

How to watch on TV: UK – Not televised / US – ESPN

How to watch online: UK – Cannot be streamed / US – ESPN+

Mainz preview: Improved Mainz

Mainz were brilliant last season with Bo Henriksen leading them to seventh placed and the UEFA Europa Conference League but they majorly declined this around with former Union Berlin boss Urs Fischer having now replaced Henriksen in the dugout.

Since then, Mainz have majorly improved with the hosts having succumbed to just two defeats in their last 13 matches across all competitions in an improved run that stretches back to before Christmas.

Stuttgart preview: Impressive Stuttgart

Stuttgart, with Sebastian Hoeness, play some of the best football in Europe, let alone the Bundesliga, and they are also in good form as they target a top four spot and potential UEFA Champions League qualification.

The visitors head into this one on the back of a Jamie Leweling brace as well as goals scored by Deniz Undav and Nikolai Nartey, making sure that they begin this weekend's sitting fourth in the table.

Mainz team news: Amiri out

Germany international attacking midfielder and Mainz key man Nadiem Amiri is now sidelined for this weekend as he deals with a heel injury.

Predicted XI (3-4-1-2): Batz; Kohr, Posch, Potulski; Widmer, Sano, Nebel, Mwene; Lee; Becker, Tietz

Unavailable: Zentner (Injured), Dal (Injured), Caci (Injured), Amiri (Injured), Hollerbach (Injured)

Questionable: Hanche-Olsen (Injured), Bell (Injured), Kawasaki (Injured)

Stuttgart team news: El Khannouss suspended

In-form Morocco international attacking midfielder Bilal El Khannouss is unavailable for Stuttgart this weekend as he is missing through suspension.

Predicted XI (3-4-1-2): Neubel; Jeltsch, Hendriks, Jaquez; Leweling, Karazor, Stiller, Fuhrich; Tomas; Undav, Demirovic

Unavailable: El Khannouss (Suspended)

Questionable: Zagadou (Injured), Chabot (Injured), Diehl (Injured), Vagnoman (Injured), Jovanovic (Injured)

Mainz vs Stuttgart prediction

Mainz and Stuttgart both have European commitments in this coming midweek in the UEFA Europa Conference League and the UEFA Europa League, respectively. This should be a fun watch, though, even with that distraction, especially with the visitors' 24 Bundesliga matches having consisted of 80 goals and it should be a good game for the neutral this weekend.

Mainz vs Stuttgart tip: Both teams to score
