Madars Razma’s recent World Darts Championship pedigree is decent, having made it to the third round in each of the last two years, losing to Michael Smith in 2023 and Stephen Bunting in 2024. This will be his tenth appearance at Ally Pally, whilst 22-year-old Jami van den Herik will be making his debut on the biggest stage in darts.
The young Dutch talent works in a clothing warehouse but has been lighting up the PDC Development Tour with plenty of eye-catching performances. The big question really is whether van den Herik can handle the sheer weight of such an occasion on the oche and play his best darts, which he’ll need to beat Razma, who knows how to win on this stage.
For van den Herik just to reach the PDC World Championship is a wonderful story and get any further would be a bonus. He is capable of scoring big when on form and Razma will need to hold his nerve should his opponent get on a roll. Ultimately though, the Latvian has to be favoured.
