Lugano vs Celje prediction

Lugano come into this one on the back of a 4-0 hammering at the hands of Sion in their most recent outing at the weekend in the Swiss Super League, to mean they have started their season with back-to-back losses. They were knocked out of the UEFA Europa League last week due to a 1-0 loss to Romanian side CFR Cluj.

They now face a Celje side that, under the management of former Olimpija Ljubljana boss Albert Riera, managed to hammer Riera’s former club Olimpija at the weekend, with a 5-0 victory in the Slovenian capital at the weekend. They were also knocked out in the UEFA Europa League with a 3-2 aggregate loss to AEK Larnakas.

Lugano have started the season extremely well, and Celje will believe they have enough firepower, both in terms of their style and personnel, to get a surprise win in Switzerland.

Lugano vs Celje tip: Double chance – Celje to win or draw
