Lorient vs Nice prediction

Having been promoted to the French top-flight last season, Lorient have been very impressive as they push into the top-half with the hosts coming into this one on the back of an entertaining 2-2 draw with Auxerre, extending their strong run of form to just one defeat in their last 16 matches across all competitions.

Nice are very much involved in the Ligue 1 relegation battle and, after the departure of Franck Haise to Stade Rennais, they are in a bit of strife after some slight improvements. They succumbed to a slender 1-0 defeat to fellow strugglers Paris FC, who were down to ten men, in the capital city last week due to a 26th minute Marshall Munetsi strike.

These have been two of the better sides in 2026 but Nice are drifting once again and, with home advantage, Lorient should push themselves into the semi-finals.
