Key Stats
- Nigeria have won four of the previous five international matches between these teams. The exception is the 1-1 draw in their World Cup qualifying encounter in November 2023 (their most recent meeting).
- Nigeria have lost only one of their last 13 World Cup qualifying matches (W4 D8). They have drawn eight of the most recent 11 fixtures.
Lesotho vs Nigeria Prediction
Lesotho come into this one on the back of a couple of hammerings during the September international break. They were beaten 3-0 by South Africa and then lost by four goals to nil against Benin.
Nigeria have been underperforming for a while due to the mismanagement of things off the pitch. They have a genuinely star studded squad and the Super Eagles should be in North America next summer. However, they currently sit three points behind both South Africa and Benin, only above Rwanda on goal difference. The Nigerians simply have to win both of their remaining games, and even then their qualification is unlikely.
Nigeria have been unconvincing, and were so in a previous 1-1 draw against Lesotho in Lagos, but the Super Eagles remain he favourites for this one this weekend.
