Leeds team news: Rodon & Justin should be fine

Wales international centre-back Joe Rodon is expected to be available and the same can be said for fellow defender James Justin, who did need stitches after the game with Manchester City at the weekend.

The only confirmed absentee for Farke and his Leeds side is that of Noah Okafor but the hosts will be expected to still name a relatively front foot side here.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Darlow; Justin, Rodon, Struijk; Bogle, Stach, Ampadu, Gudmundsson; Aaronson, Nmecha; Calvert-Lewin

Unavailable: Okafor (Injured)

Questionable: Rodon (Injured), Justin (Injured)

Sunderland team news: Le Bris says 'no update'

In his pre-match press conference, Regis Le Bris said there was 'no update' to give with regards to his injury list as the Black Cats travel south to West Yorkshire.

Nordi Mukiele was the most recent man to join an injury list that also consists of fellow defenders Reinildo and Dennis Cirkin, as well as attacking trio Jocelin Ta Bi, Romain Mundle and Brian Brobbey.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Roefs; Geertruida, Ballard, Alderete, Hume; Diarra, Xhaka, Sadiki; Talbi, Mayenda, Le Fee

Unavailable: Mukiele (Injured), Reinildo (Injured), Cirkin (Injured), Mundle (Injured), Ta Bi (Injured), Brobbey (Injured)

Leeds vs Sunderland prediction

Leeds United come into this one on the back of playing well but succumbing to a 1-0 loss at home to Manchester City the other day. Leeds have been generally impressive for a while now, though, with Daniel Farke’s side having suffered just three defeats in their last 15 matches across all competitions.

Sunderland remain in contention for Europe after a brilliant campaign, following their promotion via the playoffs last season. The Black Cats are now winless in their last four matches in the Premier League, though, after a 1-1 draw with AFC Bournemouth ended a three-match losing streak the other day.

Leeds finished last season 24 points clear of Sunderland and, with their home advantage, the hosts have to be viewed as favourites against regressing opposition.

Leeds vs Sunderland tip: Leeds to win
