Lecce preview: Slipped into the bottom three

Lecce begin the 37th match day of the 2024/25 Serie A campaign having slipped into the bottom three and the relegation places after a woeful few months. Despite that, Marco Giampaolo remains in charge having replaced Luca Gotti earlier on in the campaign.

The Apulia-based outfit come into this one on the back of a 1-1 draw with Hellas Verona at the Marcantonio Bentegodi last weekend. That result means the home team are now winless in their last 13 matches since beating Parma by three goals to one in late-January.

Torino preview: Mid-table Torino

Torino, under the management of Antonio Conte disciple Paolo Vanoli who led Venezia to promotion last season, sit firmly in the middle-of-the-table but could well be described as firmly ‘on the beach’ ahead of the penultimate weekend of the campaign.

The Piedmont-based Torino most recently suffered a 2-0 loss to a heavily rotated but title challenging Internazionale at the Olimpico di Torino in Turin last weekend with goals scored by Poland international and Nicola Zalewski and Albania international Kristjan Asllani.

Lecce team news: Nothing new

There are no fresh injury concerns or suspension issues for Lecce to deal with this weekend as the likes of Gaby Jean, Joan Gonzalez and Filip Marchwinski are all out injured, whilst defender Kialonda Gaspar is a doubt due a thigh issue.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Falcone; Guilbert, Sala, Baschirotto, Gallo; Coulibaly, Pierret; N’Dri, Helgason, Tete Morente; Krstovic

Unavailable: Jean (Injured), Joan Gonzalez (Injured), Marchwinski (Injured)

Questionable: Gaspar (Injured)

Torino team news: Several injuries

Torino head to Lecce with several injury issues for this one with the likes of Saul Coco, Perr Schuurs and Duvan Zapata still unavailable, whilst the likes of Borna Sosa, Marcus Pedersen and Yann Karamoh are all doubtful, too.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Milinkovic-Savic; Dembele, Guillermo Maripan, Masina, Biraghi; Ricci, Gineitis; Lazaro, Vlasic, Elmas; Adams

Unavailable: Saul Coco (Injured), Schuurs (Injured), Ilkhan (Injured), Duvan Zapata (Injured)

Questionable: Sosa (Injured), Pedersen (Injured), Karamoh (Injured), Njie (Injured)

Lecce vs Torino prediction

Lecce have struggled for goals throughout the campaign and now appear destined for the drop with both Venezia and Empoli finding much-needed victories last weekend with even already relegated Monza getting a less important three points. Torino will likely be quite defensive and cautious up against their opponents, as they often have been, but there is also a lack of any attacking fluency or motivation. Regardless of the match result, it is likely to be a tedious watch for the neutral at Stadio Comunale Via del Mare.

Lecce vs Torino tip: Under 2.5 goals
