Le Havre preview: In the fight

Le Havre come into this one on the back of a slender 1-0 defeat to a strong and title challenging Lens side at Stade Bollaert-Delelis last weekend, due to a first-half stoppage-time winner scored by Ruben Aguilar.

That means that Le Havre have managed just one victory in their last 11 matches across all competitions, which is a run of form that has seen them tumble towards the relegation places in Ligue 1, once again.

Strasbourg preview: Impressive Strasbourg

Following the departure of Liam Rosenior to Chelsea last month, Strasbourg took the surprise decision to appoint former Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Gary O'Neil and it is certainly paying off so far with Strasbourg in excellent form as they head to face Le Havre.

Having recovered from a slender but hard-fought 2-1 defeat at home to Paris Saint-Germain last weekend, Strasbourg then went and comfortably dispatched of Monaco by three goals to one in the Alsace region in midweek to reach the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France.

Le Havre team news: Sangante a doubt

Centre-back Arouna Sangante is a major doubt for Le Havre due to concussion and they have plenty of other issues, too, involving Gauthier Lloris and Reda Khadra, for example.

Predicted XI (3-4-1-2): Mpasi; Pembele, Ndiaye, Doucoure; Nego, Ebonog, Gourna-Douath, Zouaoui; Mambimbi; Samatta, Quetant

Unavailable: Seko (Injured), Toure (Injured)

Questionable: Sangante (Concussion), Lloris (Injured), Youte (Injured), Khadra (Injured), Koffi (Injured), Samatta (Injured)

Strasbourg team news: No Emegha

Thera are no fresh injury concerns for Gary O’Neil to deal with here, other than Chelsea-bound former captain Emanuel Emegha remains unavailable due to an apparent thigh injury.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Penders; Doue, Anselmino, Doukoure, Chilwell; Ouattara, El Mourabet; Diego Moreira, Julio Enciso, Godo; Panichelli

Unavailable: Emegha (Injured)

Questionable:

Le Havre vs Strasbourg prediction

That victory for Strasbourg against Monaco in the cup the other day means that the visitors have now won four and lost one of O'Neil's five matches in charge across all competitions. Le Havre will try and make things awkward and difficult for their in-form opposition but Strasbourg simply have to be viewed as the firm favourites to run out as relatively comfortable winners.

Le Havre vs Strasbourg tip: Strasbourg to win.
