LDU Quito vs Palmeiras prediction

LDU Quito find themselves in the semi-finals of the Copa Libertadores for the first time since they won the competition in the 2007-08 season.

The Ecuadorian outfit were fairly comfortable winners at the quarter-final stage, defeating Sao Paulo 2-0 at home before a 0-1 victory in Argentina in the second leg. Indeed, they have lost just one of their last nine games in all competitions.

One of the most consistent sides when it comes to reaching the latter stages of South America’s premier club competition, Palmeiras are featuring in a fifth semi-final in the last six seasons after defeating River Plate 5-2 on aggregate in the last eight.

Palmeiras have to be seen as the favourites to reach the final over the two legs, but LDU Quito are a solid defensive side and are capable of holding their own in their back yard. Palmeiras are likely to have more joy on home turf in the second leg, so consider backing a low-scoring game here.

LDU Quito vs Palmeiras tip: Under 2.5 goals
