Maurizio Sarri could do with his second stint in charge of Lazio taking off now as he leads the Romans into a clash with former side Juventus at the Stadio Olimpico.

Lazio preview: Finding form

Lazio come into this one on the back of a goalless draw with Atalanta in their most recent outing at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo, last weekend. The hosts begin the weekend sitting in the bottom-half of the table.

It has been a very underwhelming start to the season for the hosts with just two victories in their opening seven matches of the campaign and the pressure is already beginning to grow on Maurizio Sarri.

Juventus preview: Struggling Old Lady

Juventus have been quite fun to watch at times this season but that has been far too much of an inconsistent level as they begin the eighth match day of the campaign sitting outside of the top six in Serie A.

The Bianconeri come into this one on the back of a six-match winless run of form across all competitions, which continued with a 1-0 defeat to Real Madrid at the Bernabeu in the UEFA Champions League in midweek.

Lazio team news: Key injury absentees

Lazio are dealing with several key injury absentees for this weekend as versatile forward Matteo Cancellieri is sidelined alongside key striker Taty Castellanos for this one.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Provedel; Marusic, Gola, Romagnoli, Tavares; Guendouzi, Cataldi, Basic; Pedro, Dia, Zaccagni

Unavailable: Gigot (Injured), Dele-Bashiru (Injured), Rovella (Injured), Cancellieri (Injured), Taty Castellanos (Injured)

Questionable: Pellegrini (Injured)

Juventus team news: Bremer out

Brazilian centre-back Bremer is missing through injury after suffering another severe knee issue. He is sidelined alongside Carlo Pinsoglio, Juan Cabal and Arkadiusz Milik.

Predicted XI (3-4-1-2): Di Gregorio; Gatti, Rugani, Kelly; Kalulu, Thuram, McKennie, Cambiaso; Koopmeiners; Vlahovic, Yildiz

Unavailable: Pinsoglio (Injured), Bremer (Injured), Juan Cabal (Injured), Milik (Injured)

Questionable:

Lazio vs Juventus prediction

Juventus have returned to being the inconsistent pretenders to the throne that led to the sacking of Thiago Motta in the March international break, and there would have to be a bit of pressure now put on Igor Tudor. They travel to Rome to face a Lazio side that have a limited amount of quality and that has shown in the league. Both sides will sense an opportunity for a pivotal morale boosting win and so, as a result, it could burst out into a chaotic encounter at the Olimpico.

Lazio vs Juventus tip: Over 2.5 goals
