How to watch online: UK – Amazon Prime / US – Disney+

Key stats

  • All the previous five international matches between these teams finished level, including a pair of draws in the qualifying for the World Cup in 1994 (1-1 in Albania and 0-0 in Latvia).
  • Latvia have lost their last three World Cup qualifying matches at home.
  • Albania have kept six clean sheets in their last nine World Cup qualifying matches.

Latvia vs Albania prediction

Lativa return to action after being the team on a bye in the first set of matches in this window and they will know that this really is a crunch match for them if they are to have any hope of challenging for second place in Group K.

They lost to England last time out 3-0 but there were some positives to take from that match as they made it difficult for Thomas Tuchel’s side.

This home match against Albania is key however and one they have to take something from and snap a poor run of losing their last three qualifiers at home.

Albania come off a typically battling goalless draw with rivals Serbia but they will look to build on that here. Their chances of second spot could well come down to these matches against Latvia so they will be keen to get a win here.

Their previous meetings have always been incredibly tight with all five of their previous meetings being draws. We prefer Albania as the stronger team overall, but with home advantage for Latvia, we can see this being another tie.

Latvia vs Albania tip: Draw
