Northern Irish champions have underwhelmed domestically this season and the NIFL Premiership side are rock-bottom of the 36-team UEFA Europa Conference League league phase table as they now face a strong Belgian side, Gent, challenging for a top eight finish.

Larne vs Gent Prediction

Larne are the only team without a point in this season’s UEFA Europa Conference League as they now take on a Gent side that are pushing for a top eight finish and automatic knockout football.

As mentioned, Larne have underperformed domestically as they sit ninth in the 12-team table, albeit with an incredible six games in hand on league leading Linfield. They have scored the fewest goals and conceded the most of all 36 teams in this season’s UECL.

They now face a Gent side that, coached by former Genk boss Wouter Vrancken, hammered Backa Topola by three goals to nil last week before a 1-1 draw with Cercle Brugge at the Janbreydelstadion. They have won just two of their last seven matches across all competitions.

Larne are a poor side and have struggled throughout this campaign but their success came by even qualifying for the league phase. Gent are firm favourites and should win comfortably in Belfast.

Larne vs Gent Tip: Gent to win -1 handicap
