LAFC come into this one on the back of a slender 1-0 defeat of Dallas at the weekend to ensure that they have started their campaign with five wins from five across all competitions, including a 7-1 aggregate victory in the first round of this competition against Real Espana.
Alajuelense comfortably defeated San Carlos by two goals to nil at the weekend, clinching top spot in the 2025 regular season Costa Rican Primera Division Clausura.
Alajuelense are a solid side and will fancy themselves in the home leg but LAFC have to be viewed as the favourites for this one in this first-leg.
