In the first-leg of this UEFA Europa Conference League first qualifying round tie at the Tose Proeski Arena in the North Macedonian capital of Skopje, Vardar hammered La Fiorita by three goals to nil last week. After a goalless first-half, Azeer Omeragikj opened the scoring in the 47th minute before an own goal scored by Mirku Drudi and then a clinching third goal notched by Rogers Mato for the North Macedonians.
La Fiorita would have wanted to emulate the improvement of the national team of late, whilst Tre Fiori have also got themselves a first-leg advantage, but they have shown themselves to still have some way to go to make up a gulf to other weak sides.
Vardar aren’t necessarily a team expected to get to the league phase of this competition, but they should wrap up a comfortable two-legged victory in San Marino.
