Kuwait have been stubborn but ineffective in AFC’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying third round with five draws and two defeats as they take on an Oman side they can still leapfrog this week.

Key Stats

  • Kuwait are without a win in their last seven World Cup qualifying matches (D5 L2).
  • Oman are unbeaten in their last seven international matches against Kuwait (W6 D1).
  • Oman have won only two of their last eight World Cup qualifying matches (D2 L4).

Kuwait vs Oman Prediction

Kuwait, as mentioned, have suffered just two defeats in AFC qualification so they will be able to squeeze themselves into the top four in these final few games but this is a huge game against an Omani side that occupy the top four places at the moment.

They come into this one on the back of a frustrating 2-2 draw with Iraq at the Basra International Stadium the other day. Kuwait took a 2-0 lead with just 20 minutes to go but eventually found themselves pegged back to a 2-2 draw with Iraq scoring two goals deep into second-half stoppage-time.

They now face an Oman side that, under the management of Rashid Jaber, earned themselves a more than creditable point at the Goyang Stadium in South Korea the other day. Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Hwang Hee-chan gave the Koreans a first-half lead before Ali Al Busaidi scored an 80th minute equaliser.

These are two sides that appear evenly matched and they have both made a habit of sharing draws through this qualifying campaign so backing that once again would appear good value.

Kuwait vs Oman Tip: Draw
