Kuopion Palloseura were surprise winners of the Finnish league last season, finishing above HJK Helsinki in 2024. It is their first ever season in proper UEFA competition. They defeated Milsami Orhei in the first qualifying round before collapsing against Kairat, beating RFS in the UEFA Europa League and then losing to Midtjylland.
Drita Gjilan have made it into the league or proper phase of a UEFA competition for the first time in their history. The Kosovans suffered defeats in the UEFA Champions League and then the UEFA Europa League before a victory over Differdange in the UEFA Europa Conference League, courtesy of a 3-1 aggregate victory.
Kairat have qualified for the UEFA Champions League and yet suffered a 2-0 loss to KuPS in Finland, highlighting what they can do with their home advantage and they are therefore favourites for this one.
