Kazakhstan have certainly declined with a changing of the guard in their squad as they now prepare to take on Liechtenstein at the Astana Arena this weekend.

Kick-off date/time:

How to watch on TV: UK – Not televised / US – FOX Sports

How to watch online: UK – Amazon Prime / US – Disney+

Key stats

  • Kazakhstan have won only one of their last 26 World Cup qualifying matches (D7 L18). That was their 2-0 victory against Liechtenstein in March 2025.
  • Liechtenstein have won just two of their previous 75 World Cup qualifying matches. Both of those wins came in the 2006 qualifiers against Luxembourg.

Kazakhstan vs Liechtenstein prediction

Kazakhstan come into this one on the back of a 6-0 demolition at the hands of Belgium at Lotto Park last month, albeit it was 0-0 until the 42nd minute of the match. The Kazakhs have now suffered four successive defeats and they have managed just three victories in 20.

Their most recent win was a 2-0 victory away from home against Liechtenstein, who have now fallen behind San Marino in the pecking order and are now fairly adjudged to be the weakest side in European international football. They most recently suffered a 5-0 hammering at the hands of North Macedonia.

Despite the fact that Kazakhstan are regressing and aren’t a very good side, they will still be expected to win this one with ease against such poor opposition.

Kazakhstan vs Liechtenstein tip: Kazakhstan to win to nil
