Juventus preview: New era for the Old Lady

Having sacked Igor Tudor last month, Juventus have appointed former Napoli and Italy boss Luciano Spalletti as Juventus try and kick back towards the top four, having shared a 1-1 draw with Sporting CP at home in the UEFA Champions League in midweek.

The Bianconeri have started the post-Tudor reign in Serie A with back-to-back victories, backing up a 3-1 defeat of Juventus in Turin by defeating Cremonese by two goals to one at Stadio Giovanni Zini last weekend.

Torino preview: Mid-table Torino

Having started the season reasonably slowly, former Lazio and Hellas Verona boss Marco Baroni has begun to find some form for Torino as they begin the weekend sitting firmly in the middle-of-the-table.

The visitors most recently shared an entertaining 2-2 draw with newly-promoted and still winless Pisa last weekend, extending their current unbeaten run of form to five matches in Serie A.

Juventus team news: Defensive issues

With Bremer still sidelined for the Old Lady, former Bristol City and Newcastle United defender Lloyd Kelly is now a doubt for the hosts due to a back injury.

Predicted XI (3-5-2): Di Gregorio; Kalulu, Gatti, Cambiaso; McKennie, Koopmeiners, Locatelli, Thuram, Kostic; Openda, David

Unavailable: Pinsoglio (Injured), Bremer (Injured), Juan Cabal (Injured), Milik (Injured)

Questionable: Kelly (Injured), Vlahovic (Injured)

Torino team news: Defensive injuries

Uruguay international goalkeeper Franco Israel remains a doubt for Torino, whilst former Everton defender Niels Nkounkou is a confirmed absentee, whilst Marcus Pedersen is a doubt.

Predicted XI (3-5-2): Paleari; Guillermo Maripan, Ismajli, Saul Coco; Pedersen, Ilic, Casadei, Vlasic, Lazaro; Adams, Giovanni Simeone

Unavailable: Sazonov (Injured), Schuurs (Injured), Nkounkou (Injured)

Questionable: Franco Israel (Injured), Pedersen (Injured), Aboukhlal (Injured)

Juventus vs Torino prediction

The Turin derby sees two teams with coaches that are trying to play a proactive style of football, which isn’t usually the case for both Juventus and Torino. The summer saw Juve bring in quite a lot of quality in attack, whilst Torino appear to have quite a lot of cohesive patterns of play of their own in the final third. Juve have to remain favourites but it should be quite a fun derby day for this weekend.
