Juventus preview: Entertaining Juve

Juventus have endured a very dodgy recent run of form with just one victory, coming in an eventual two-legged defeat in the UEFA Champions League, in their last six matches across all competitions.

The Bianconeri did bounce back in the second-leg of that loss against Galatasaray and showed further resolve last week as they came from 3-1 down to salvage a point against Roma at the Stadio Olímpico in the capital city.

Pisa preview: Solid but lacking quality

Following their promotion to the top-flight last season, it has been a difficult campaign for Pisa with the Tuscans heading down, having managed just one victory in their 27 matches in Serie A, despite showing signs of being competitive.

Pisa come into this one on the back of a slender 1-0 loss at home to a seemingly fatigued Bologna in their most recent outing last week as a result of a 90th minute winner scored by Danish midfielder Jens Odgaard.

Juventus team news: A few issues

Juventus have a few issues to deal with here as defender Emil Holm is sidelined, while attackers Dusan Vlahovic and Arkadiusz Milik are doubtful for the hosts, too.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Di Gregorio; Gatti, Kelly, Koopmeiners; McKennie, Locatelli, Thuram, Cambiaso; Miretti, Yildiz; Openda

Unavailable: Holm (Injured)

Questionable: Vlahovic (Injured), Milik (Injured)

Pisa team news: A few doubts

Pisa are dealing with a few doubts for this one as Arturo Calabresi and Lorran are now potentially unavailable alongside both Daniel Denoon and Isak Vural.

Predicted XI (3-5-2): Nicolas; Canestrelli, Caracciolo, Coppola; Leris, Hojholt, Marin, Aebischer, Angori; Moreo, Durosinmi

Unavailable: Scuffet (Injured)

Questionable: Denoon (Injured), Calabresi (Injured), Vural (Injured), Lorran (Injured)

Juventus vs Pisa prediction

Alberto Gilardino took charge of Pisa last summer and the 2006 FIFA World Cup winner did manage to set them up quite well defensively but he has now been replaced by Oscar Hiljemark. They will likely continue to show character but that is the case for Juve, too, and how blessed with a much-needed game against inferior opposition, the Old Lady should get themselves a much-needed victory.
