Juventus had returned from the September international break in thrilling fashion, with a 4-3 defeat of Internazionale in the Derby d’Italia before they then scored two second-half stoppage-time goals to make it 4-4 against Borussia Dortmund.
Atalanta preview: Struggling Bergamasci
After the departure of successful long-term manager Gian Piero Gasperini, Atalanta opted to appoint former Southampton boss Ivan Juric and it had been a predictably indifferent start to the season before a couple of recent much-needed victories.
Sandwiching a 4-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League, Atalanta hammered Lecce by four goals to one before then comfortably defeating Torino by three goals to nil at Stadio Grande Torino in their most recent outing last weekend.
