Jamaica Preview: MCCLAREN’S REGGAE BOYZ

Former Middlesbrough and England boss Steve McClaren took charge of the Jamaican national team before the autumn international breaks and the Reggae Boyz qualified for the quarter-finals with two victories and two draws in their four group stage games.

They have a fair bit of pedigree in their squad with West Ham United striker Michail Antonio leading the line with the likes of Demarai Gray, Bobby Decordova-Reid, Ethan Pinnock and Mason Holgate within their current squad.

USA Preview: POCH BUILDING

Mauricio Pochettino is in charge of a United States side that are building towards co-hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup with an expectation of going quite deep into that tournament and these are some much-needed competitive games as preparation for that competition.

The USMNT have a bit of depth across the squad but they come into this one on the back of a 2-0 defeat to Mexico in their most recent outing last month a few days after they had defeated Panama by the same scoreline.

Jamaica Team News: PEDIGREE

Bobby Decordova-Reid’s shift into an out and out midfielder has been helpful for the Jamaicans to support an unbalanced side that has an array of attacking options.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Blake; Lembikisa, Holgate, Pinnock, Leigh; Palmer, Latibeaudiere; Campbell, Decordova-Reid, Gray; Antonio

USA Team News: CAPTAIN AMERICA

For the last decade, everything has pretty much revolved around Christian Pulisic but the attacker has finally hit some genuinely good form for Serie A giants AC Milan this season.

PREDICTED XI (3-4-2-1): Turner; Scally, McKenzie, Ream; Weah, Musah, McKennie, Robinson; Aaronson, Pulisic; Sargent

UNAVAILABLE:

Jamaica vs USA Prediction

The Jamaican national team have been much-improved and their over-arching goal during this international cycle being potential qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Jamaica, though, now face a tough test, albeit it is against the United States in a transitional period in the early stages of Mauricio Pochettino getting to grips with his squad. It would still be a major surprise to see Jamaica overturn the Americans, even with their home advantage for this first-leg.

Jamaica vs USA Tip: DOUBLE CHANCE – USA TO WIN OR DRAW
