Jamaica team news: One potential change

The likelihood is that we’ll see just one change from the XI who started last time out against Guatemala. That being defender Richard King coming in for Mason Holgate. King replaced Holgate in the first half of that match due to injury.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Blake; Latibeaudiere, Low, King, Bell; Russell, Hayden; Cephas, Gray, Bailey; Brown

Unavailable:

Questionable: Holgate (Injured)

Guatemala team news: Mendez-Laing the threat

Jamaica will need to keep a close eye on Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, whose pace on the counter can cause significant problems for their backline if utilised correctly by Guatemala. Elsewhere, Jonathan Franco could gain a start in central midfield.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Hagen; Morales, Pinto, Ardon, Aguilar Morales; Franco, Saravia; Lemus, Escobar, Mendez-Laing; Ordonez

Unavailable:

Questionable:

Jamaica vs Guatemala prediction

These two nations just met in World Cup qualifying only last Tuesday, with Jamaica coming out on top over Guatemala by three goals to nil. Unsurprisingly, they head into this match as heavy favourites again, when taking into account the domestic experience of their players compared to those of Guatemala. In eight fixtures this year, Jamaica are yet to lose in 90 minutes and Steve McClaren has breathed new life into the Reggae Boyz.

Guatemala gave up 18 shots (eight of which were on target) in their defeat against Jamaica last time out and whilst they may well opt for an ultra-defensive style of play here, McClaren’s side should overwhelm them eventually from an attacking point of view. Back Jamaica to triumph once again by at least two clear goals.

Jamaica vs Guatemala tip: Jamaica to win with -1 handicap
