Italy vs Belgium prediction
Roberto Mancini guided Italy to EURO 2020 glory five years ago, which turned out to be the last time the Azzurri were any good. Since then, it’s been nothing but absolutely misery, culminating in them failing once again to qualify for the FIFA World Cup, losing their play-off final to Bosnia-Herzegovina on penalties. This won’t be an easy game either, although some Italians may see it as one they should win at home to Belgium.
But the Red Devils did make it to the World Cup and went all the way to the quarter-finals before losing to eventual champions Spain by a goal to nil. It took an error late on by second-choice goalkeeper Senne Lammens to beat them after injury had forced off Thibaut Courtois earlier in the match. Courtois won’t feature here, having taken a break.
Whilst Belgium are also under the command of a new head coach in Mark van Bommel, their squad is more established an over ready than Italy, who will likely struggle to break down this visiting backline. Therefore, consider using the double chance market to back Belgium gaining at least a point, if not all three.
