Inter Milan preview: Inter at the top

Cristian Chivu and his Internazionale side sit at the top-of-the-table, three points clear of Derby della Madonnina rivals AC Milan after 21 matches, but they do have a problem in so-called ‘bigger’ games.

An example of that came in midweek as Inter suffered a 3-1 loss at home to Arsenal in the league phase of the UEFA Champions League with Gabriel Jesus scoring a brace, as well as Viktor Gyokeres notching one, inflicting a frustrating defeat on the Italians.

Pisa preview: Pisa struggling

Following their promotion to the top-flight last season, Pisa have often been competitive. They have lost as many games as Udinese, who sit in the top-half, but the Tuscans have managed just one win as they sit in the danger zone.

The visitors have drawn three of their last four matches in Serie A with their most recent outing seeing them share a 1-1 draw with Atalanta at Arena Garibaldi in a game in which Rafiu Durosinmi notched a late equaliser for Pisa.

Inter Milan team news: No Dumfries or Calhanoglu

Inter have a few key injury issues for this one as Netherlands international wing-back Denzel Dumfries is sidelined alongside Turkey international midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu.

Predicted XI (3-5-2): Sommer; Bisseck, De Vrij, Bastoni; Luis Henrique, Barella, Sucic, Zielinski, Dimarco; Lautaro Martinez, Thuram

Unavailable: Di Gennaro (Injured), Dumfries (Injured), Calhanoglu (Injured)

Questionable: Palacios (Injured)

Pisa team news: A few injuries

Pisa have plenty of injury issues for this one as Raul Albiol is a confirmed absentee alongside Juan Cuadrado and M’Bala Nzola, making things tough for Alberto Gilardino.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Scuffet; Coppola, Calabresi, Canestrelli; Toure, Marin, Aebischer, Angori; Moreo, Tramoni; Meister

Unavailable: Raul Albiol (Injured), Lusuardi (Injured), Juan Cuadrado (Injured), Nzola (Injured)

Questionable: Denoon (Injured), Akinsanmiro (International duty), Vural (Injured), Stengs (Injured)

Inter Milan vs Pisa prediction

Inter have some major issues in big games, as was the case against Arsenal the other day. As well as losing to the Gunners, their one draw in Serie A came against struggling defending champions Napoli with four defeats against Juventus, the aforementioned Milan and Napoli away from home. Pisa fall into the category of game where Inter hoover up the points as they march towards another Scudetto, though.

Inter Milan vs Pisa tip: Inter to win to nil
