Inter Milan vs Lazio Prediction
Simone Inzaghi, up against his former side, cultivated a relentless Inter side last season as they romped to their 20th Scudetto. They haven’t been as ruthless or efficient this season and yet remain the best team in Italy as well as one of the best sides on the continent.
The Nerazzurri returned to the top-of-the-table in Serie A at the weekend with a slender 1-0 defeat of Patrick Vieira’s Genoa at the weekend thanks to a late winner scored by Lautaro Martinez. That victory followed a run of just one win in four matches in the league and yet the treble remains a possibility for Inzaghi’s men.
Lazio have been a bit more cohesive and improved under the management of Marco Baroni this season as they begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting outside of the top four. They come into this one on the back of a respectable 2-2 draw with title challenging Napoli before a frustrating goalless draw against struggling Venezia the other day.
Inter are favourites, especially at San Siro, but it is unlikely that they are expected to be overly dominant in this game, due to their recent inconsistency and underwhelming form.
