Fresh off the back of signing a new contract until 2028, Lionel Messi will be hoping to take Inter Miami to MLS glory this month, having been in excellent form of late. The Floridians finished the regular season with a three-match winning streak in which they scored 13 goals.
Nashville finished sixth in the Eastern Conference with just one victory in their final six regular season matches as the Tennessee-based outfit, spearheaded by Sam Surridge, focused on winning the US Open Cup.
These two sides faced off on the final day of the regular season last week as Inter Miami won by five goals to two at Geodis Park with Surridge scoring for Nashville, but a Leo Messi hat-trick ensuring a victory for the Floridians.
The form is indicative of a Miami victory in this first playoff match, especially with their home advantage and the feelgood factor of Messi’s new deal in Florida.
