Hull KR Team News: Late call on McIlorum

Willie Peters will be forced to make a late decision on whether to play Micky McIlorum following his broken ankle suffered back in August. Whilst McIlorum has been named in the squad, he is likely not fully fit and this picking him represents a big risk. Joe Burgess has also made the squad for Hull FC.

Squad: Tom Davies, Peta Hiku, Oliver Gildart, Joe Burgess, Mikey Lewis, Tyrone May, Sauaso Sue, Jez Litten, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Dean Hadley, James Batchelor, Elliot Minchella, Micky McIlorum, Sam Luckley, Jai Whitbread, Rhyse Martin, Jack Broadbent, Kelepi Tanginoa, Jack Brown, Eribe Doro, Arthur Mourgue

St. Helens Team News: Percival makes it

St. Helens are boosted by the availability of Mark Percival despite him struggling with a knee problem. Jake Wingfield has also made the squad but Kyle Feldt has not. A back injury rules Feldt out, with the winger not fit enough to be selected.

Squad: Jack Welsby, Mark Percival, Jon Bennison, Tristan Sailor, Jonny Lomax, Alex Walmsley, Daryl Clark, Matty Lees, Curtis Sironen, Joe Batchelor, Morgan Knowles, Moses Mbye, James Bell, Matt Whitley, Jake Wingfield, George Delaney, Noah Stephens, Jake Burns, Harry Robertson, Deon Cross, Shane Wright

Hull KR vs St. Helens Prediction

Hull KR have been the standout team across all of Super League so far this season. Already crowned Challenge Cup winners after beating Warrington Wolves at Wembley, Willie Peters’ side have led Super League for the majority of the campaign and ended the regular season with 22 wins from 27 games and 44 points acquired.

However, St. Helens are peaking at just the right time. They went into Leeds and won in the eliminator to book their place in this semi-final and the fifth-place finishers represent a very dangerous underdog. They boast a number of players within their squad with experience of winning do-or-die fixtures such as this and Paul Wellens will no doubt have them ready for battle.

Hull KR were winners in all three of the matches between the two sides this season and Peters’ have already risen to the challenge on the big occasion as they showed in the Challenge Cup final. Whilst St. Helens managed to get past Leeds, Hull KR are likely to represent a step too far from their perspective, so back the latter to pass the test and set up a meeting with Wigan Warriors for the grand prize.
