Huddersfield Giants Team News: Good and bad news

Whilst there is good news for Huddersfield Giants with the news that Niall Evalds has returned to the squad following a four-month absence, that news is tempered by the blow that Sam Hewitt will be out for the season after breaking his jaw last Friday.

Squad: Jacob Gagai, Adam Swift, Jake Bibby, Sam Halsall, Tui Lolohea, Zac Woolford, Tom Burgess, Harry Rushton, Ashton Golding, Matty English, George King, Elliot Wallis, Leroy Cudjoe, Tristan Powell, Taane Milne, Jack Billington, Niall Evalds, Kieran Rush, George Flanagan, Jack Bibby, Matt Frawley

Wakefield Trinity Team News: Three men back in the fold

Wakefield Trinity should benefit greatly from the availability of trio Renouf Atoni, Matty Storton and Jake Trueman ahead of this away fixture. All three are named in the squad here, although this match has come too soon for Tom Johnstone, who has a groin problem.

Squad: Max Jowitt, Lachlan Walmsley, Cameron Scott, Corey Hall, Jake Trueman, Mike McMeeken, Liam Hood, Seth Nikotemo, Josh Griffin, Jay Pitts, Thomas Doyle, Caleb Hamlin-Uele, Renouf Atoni, Matty Storton, Isaiah Vagana, Mason Lino, Josh Rourke, Harvey Smith, Jayden Myers, Caius Faatili, Ellis Lingard

Huddersfield Giants vs Wakefield Trinity Prediction

Wakefield Trinity are adequately boosted by their returnees, which should add a big extra layer of grit and ability into the visiting side as they look to pile the misery onto a Huddersfield Giants team who have lost 15 of their 18 matches played so far in this season’s Super League. But Wakefield have been inconsistent of late, which will be frustrating from their perspective as it’s preventing them from really rising up the table.

When comparing these two teams, the visitors look the better all-round team and have had better results across the season. Sometimes they can fail to turn up and put up a really poor performance. But against a local rival, you would expect them to show out here and play well enough to claim the victory.
