One of the greatest strikers in Premier League history, no player boasts more hat-tricks across the Premier League era than Sergio Aguero. The Argentinian forward racked up 12 Premier League hat-tricks over the course of a ten-year career with Man City, managed by Roberto Mancini, Manuel Pellegrini and Pep Guardiola.

Over eight years separates Aguero’s first Premier League hat-trick against Wigan Athletic on September 10th2011, to his last on January 12th 2020 vs Aston Villa. Of the 12 hat-tricks, three of them saw Aguero go on to score more than three times in the fixture, the most being a five-goal haul against Newcastle in 2015.

2018 was the most profitable Premier League hat-trick year for Aguero, with three in total over the 12-month period. This included a second career Premier League hat-trick vs Newcastle, both of which came at the Etihad Stadium. The other two came against Leicester and Huddersfield Town respectively, all of which were at home.
Of Aguero’s 12 Premier League hat-tricks, only three were scored on the road, including his last at Villa Park. Whilst Aguero’s record may well be beaten in the future, possibly by fellow Man City star Erling Haaland, his legacy will always remain.
