Hoffenheim preview: Three in a row

Hoffenheim are steamrolling up the table and now find themselves in the European places after having secured their third straight win in the Bundesliga away at Wolfsburg in a thriller last Sunday. The hosts have now racked up three goals in each of those last three games in which they were triumphant.

Scoring with such freedom won’t be as easy against Leipzig but with the opportunity to take their overall points tally to 19 after just ten games, they’ll likely try and take the game to the visitors.

RB Leipzig preview: Eight unbeaten

Of RB Leipzig’s most recent eight Bundesliga games, they’ve drawn one and won seven, including each of their last three. Their most recent victory was one of Leipzig’s most notable this season. An excellent all-round performance saw them defeat fellow Champions League contenders Stuttgart by three goals to one.

Clearly RB Leipzig are back on track following a bad 2024-25 season and being able to solely focus on the Bundesliga has no doubt helped them on their way. This serves as another big challenge however.

Hoffenheim team news: Hlozek still out

Adam Hlozek headlines the list of unavailable players for Hoffenheim with Hlozek having now been out for some time with a foot injury. Gendrey and Machida join the Czech international on the sidelines.

Predicted XI: (4-4-2): Baumann; Coufal, Hranac, Kabak, Bernardo; Kramaric, Avdullahu, Burger, Toure; Asllani, Lemperle

Unavailable: Gendrey (Injured), Hlozek (Injured), Machida (Injured)

Questionable: Chaves (Injured)

RB Leipzig team news: Lukeba a doubt

Centre-back Castello Lukeba faces a late fitness test with a shoulder issue. Should he be ruled out then expect Bitshiabu to take his place alongside captain Willi Orban. Henrichs and Nedeljkovic remain out.

Predicted XI: (4-3-3)Gulacsi; Baku, Orban, Bitshiabu, Raum; Ouedraogo, Kampl, Baumgartner; Diomande, Romulo, Nusa

Unavailable: Henrichs (Injured), Nedeljkovic (Injured)

Questionable: Lukeba (Injured)

Hoffenheim vs RB Leipzig prediction

When taking into account the recent attacking potency of Hoffenheim, RB Leipzig are in for a big test, particularly if they end up without Castello Lukaba available at the back. But RB Leipzig appear to be the more well-rounded unit compared to Hoffenheim, who may well get found out against a team of Leipzig’s quality.

Whilst it would be no surprise to see Hoffenheim find the net, RB Leipzig are still well-placed to overcome the challenge. As they did against Stuttgart, back RB Leipzig to triumph with both teams scoring.

Hoffenheim vs RB Leipzig tip: RB Leipzig to win and both teams to score
