Hoffenheim preview: Snow joke
Hoffenheim didn’t play this weekend due to the snow forcing postponement but that shouldn’t be an issue here against Borussia Monchengladbach. After battling relegation previously, it’s been a different story this campaign and Christian Ilzer’s men are currently holding onto sixth-place and that final European spot.
After losing 2-0 away at Borussia Dortmund, Hoffenheim have responded well, winning against Hamburg at home before travelling to Stuttgart and coming away with a hugely respective goalless draw heading into the break.
Borussia Monchengladbach preview: Back with a bang
Borussia Monchengladbach fans couldn’t have been happier with what they saw from the team in their first Bundesliga fixture of 2026. Hosting Augsburg, Gladbach were excellent at both ends of the field as they dismantled their opponents, winning by four goals to nil to take themselves up to 19 points.
The question now is whether Gladbach can back that result up with another one here, especially away from home and against tougher opposition in Hoffenheim. They’ll need to replicate their performance levels of the weekend.
Hoffenheim team news: Hajdari suspended
Hoffenheim won’t be able to select the suspended Hajdari, whilst Machino, Hlozek and Campbell are all out due to injury.
Predicted XI: (4-3-3): Baumann; Coufal, Chaves, Kabak, Bernardo; Promel, Avdullahu, Burger; Lemperle, Asllani, Toure
Unavailable: Campbell (Injured), Hajdari (Suspended), Hlozek (Injured), Machida (Injured)

Borussia Monchengladbach team news: No change to key absentees
Borussia Monchengladbach are still without Robin Hack and Tim Kleindienst through injury, whilst Ngoumou is not fit enough to feature. Illness could also rule out Cardoso.
Predicted XI: (3-4-3): Nicolas; Sander, Elvedi, Diks; Scally, Reitz, Engelhardt, Netz; Honorat, Tabakovic, Neuhaus
Unavailable: Hack (Injured), Kleindienst (Injured), Ngoumou (Fitness)
Questionable: Cardoso (Illness)
Hoffenheim vs Borussia Monchengladbach prediction
This has all the makings of an extremely intriguing clash between one team who have been really strong throughout the season and another flying high from a confidence perspective. It may take time for Hoffenheim to find their feet following the weekend’s postponement, whilst Gladbach should come out of the traps fast.
It’s a well-matched contest on paper and although Hoffenheim are strong at home, what we saw from the visitors last time out cannot be discounted and a similar showing will make them extremely tough to beat. Therefore, it’s worth backing both teams to pick up a point.
