Hellas Verona Preview: Hit or miss Verona
Hellas Verona head into the final three games of the campaign with only rock-bottom Monza having lost more than the 21 games that they have been beaten in but have also won just one game fewer than a Torino side with realistic intentions of finishing in the top-half of the table.
The home team, under the management of former Empoli boss Paolo Zanetti, most recently suffered a 1-0 loss to Internazionale at San Siro last weekend due to a ninth minute penalty scored by Albania international defensive midfielder Kristjan Asllani.
Lecce Preview: Struggling Lecce
Lecce produced something of a great escape last season with Luca Gotti at the helm but the Apulia-based club are now hovering just above the bottom three and the relegation places once again due to the poor management of Marco Giampaolo, who replaced Gotti a few months ago.
The visitors come into this one on the back of a 1-0 loss to Napoli at Stadio Comunale Via del Mare in their most recent outing last weekend to mean they are now winless in their last 12 matches with just one victory in their last 15 games.
Hellas Verona Team News: Couple of doubts
Hellas Verona are dealing with a couple of key doubts for this one as Poland international Pawel Dawidowicz is sidelined alongside Marco Davide Faraoni, whilst midfielder Abdou Harroui remains a long-term absentee for this weekend.
Predicted XI (3-5-1-1): Montipo; Daniliuc, Valentini, Frese; Tchatchoua, Niasse, Duda, Serdar, Bradaric; Suslov; Sarr
Unavailable: Harroui (Injured)
Questionable: Dawidowicz (Injured), Faraoni (Injured)
Lecce Team News: Krstovic a doubt
Nikola Krstovic remains the most consistent goal threat for Lecce and he is now a key injury doubt for this one as he deals with a thigh issue. They also have some key absentees such as defender Gaby Jean and midfield duo Joan Gonzalez and Filip Marchwinski.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Falcone; Guilbert, Gaspar, Baschirotto, Gallo; Kaba, Pierret; Pierotti, Coulibaly, Karlsson; Krstovic
Unavailable: Jean (Injured), Joan Gonzalez (Injured), Marchwinski (Injured)
Questionable: Krstovic (Injured)
Hellas Verona vs Lecce Prediction
Hellas Verona either win or lose with three successive draws in mid-April making up 60% of their draws throughout this campaign. They face a Lecce side that have been woeful in the last few years but the similarly woeful level of Monza, Venezia and Empoli means they are currently safe ahead of this weekend’s round of fixtures. This is expected to be a low-scoring encounter between two generally poor sides but Verona, with home advantage, would appear slight favourites.
Hellas Verona vs Lecce Tip: Hellas Verona to win & under 3.5 goals
