Heidenheim preview: Still no points
Heidenheim remain the only team with a point to their name this season after slipping to a fourth straight defeat last time out. This time it was Hamburg who beat them in what was a desperately disappointing showing from Heidenheim, allowing their opponents to pick up their first win of the campaign.
Whilst Heidenheim haven’t had the easiest of starts, already facing the likes of RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund, they’ve not played well with their backline struggling to contain the opposition and goals proving extremely difficult to come by, having only scored two so far.
Augsburg preview: Losing streak extended
It’s now three losses in a row for Augsburg, which wasn’t expected after such a good win to begin the new campaign against Freiburg. A fighting 2-3 loss at the hands of Bayern Munich was nothing to be ashamed of but since then, defeats to both St. Pauli and most recently ten-man Mainz has seen them fall down the table at a rate of knots.
The Mainz result was particularly poor, especially when considering that Augsburg were at home and that the visitors managed to score two goals after having a man sent off fairly early on in the second half, ultimately winning 1-4.

Heidenheim are once again without a significant number of players through injury including Keller, Paqarada, Feller and Pieringer. They are joined on the sidelines by Zivzivadze, who is suspended.

A match which both teams need to win. Despite the defensive deficiencies of the pair, who have conceded 19 goals between them, Heidenheim and Augsburg are still likely to deploy largely attacking styles of play, knowing the importance of three points here. As a result, which should see an entertaining game with plenty of scoring opportunities for either side.
The result could go either way with Augsburg prone to being hit on the counter-attack and Heidenheim generally weak at the back. But the smart move is to back over 2.5 goals and both teams finding the net.
