Hamrun Spartans vs Maccabi Tel-Aviv prediction

In the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League last month, Hamrun Spartans suffered a 6-0 aggregate loss to Dynamo Kyiv with a couple of 3-0 losses to the Ukrainians. They now face a Maccabi Tel-Aviv side that were also beaten as the Israeli champions suffered a 2-1 aggregate defeat to Cypriot champions Pafos, with a 1-0 loss at the neutral venue of the TSC Arena in Backa Topola in Serbia last week.

Hamrun Spartans will believe that any qualification for the league phase of a UEFA competition is good enough for them, whilst Maccabi Tel-Aviv are still reeling from the shock loss of Robbie Keane to Ferencvaros mid-way through last season.

This one is expected to be quite an entertaining encounter for the neutral in Malta, with Hamrun likely to take the game to the Israeli’s here, and both teams scoring seems a good bet.
