Having gained promotion back to the German top-flight last season, Hamburg begin the final match day before the winter break sitting reasonably well clear of the bottom three and the danger zone.
After recent back-to-back victories, the Hamburgers do now come into this one on the back of a 4-1 hammering at the hands of Hoffenheim due to goals from Grischa Promel, Ozan Kabak, Tim Lemperle and Fisnik Asllani, before Rayan Philippe scored late on.
Eintracht Frankfurt preview: Entertaining Eintracht
In their 14 Bundesliga matches so far this season, there have been a combined total of 58 goals in Eintracht Frankfurt games, with that level of high-scoring fun also replicated in the UEFA Champions League with 24 goals in their six games.
Frankfurt have been in indifferent form this season but they do now come into this one on the back of a 1-0 defeat of Augsburg at the Deutsche Bank Park last week, courtesy of a 68th minute winner scored by Japan international midfielder Ritsu Doan.

Hamburg are dealing with plenty of injury issues for this one as defender Warmed Omari remains a longer term absentee alongside former Cardiff City striker Robert Glatzel.

Hamburg have, for a newly-promoted side, been able to play with a bit more fluency and rhythm that many would have expected, majorly aided by Arsenal loanees Albert Sambi Lokonga and Fabio Vieira. With their home advantage, they will fancy themselves to take the game to Frankfurt as a result but the visitors have a very entertaining and thrilling style for themselves and so a high-scoring encounter appears a good bet for this one once again.
