After seeing their hopes of an unbeaten Bundesliga campaign dashed last weekend, Hamburg could feel Bayern Munich’s wrath on Saturday evening.

Kick-off date/time:

How to watch on TV: UK – Sky Sports / US – ESPN

How to watch online: UK – Sky Go / US – ESPN+

Hamburg preview: Another point on the board

Hamburg recorded their third draw over the last four rounds of Bundesliga fixtures last time out, holding St. Pauli on the road. They now lie in 14th-place but just three points above the bottom three as it stands.

They’ll have their work cut out in this one but like Augsburg last weekend, the best thing they can do is treat it like a free hit and play with no fear.

Bayern Munich preview: Invincibility ended

Bayern Munich saw their unbeaten season ended abruptly by Augsburg this past weekend, shocking the football world. Prior to that game, the Rekordmeister had won 16 and drawn two of their 18 Bundesliga fixtures, emphasising just how big of a surprise it was that they were beaten.

After leading by a goal to nil, Bayern could not kill the game and Vincent Kompany’s side were shocked by a second half double from the visitors. Michael Olise hit the woodwork deep into stoppage time, but Bayern failed to grab an equaliser.

Hamburg team news: Dompe suspended

The assumption is that Jean-Luc Dompe won’t play any part here for Hamburg after the club suspended him in-house until further notice. Three players are doubts and Poulsen remains out injured.

Predicted XI: (3-4-3): Heuer Fernandes; Capaldo, Vuskovic, Torunarigha; Jatta, Sambi Lokonga, Remberg, Muheim; Vieira, Konigsdorffer, Philippe

Unavailable: Poulsen (Injured), Rossing-Lelesiit (Injured), Dompe (Suspended)

Questionable: Balde (Injured), Downs (Injured), Glatzel (Illness)

Bayern Munich team news: Big guns back from start

Expect Harry Kane and Michael Olise back in the starting line-up after both began on the bench in Eindhoven midweek. Konrad Laimer is Bayern’s only confirmed absentee with a calf injury.

Predicted XI: (4-2-3-1): Neuer; Bischof, Tah, Kim, Stanisic; Kimmich, Pavlovic; Olise, Karl, Diaz; Kane

Unavailable: Laimer (Injured)

Questionable:

Hamburg vs Bayern Munich prediction

Whilst Bayern Munich may have been in action midweek, taking on PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League, they should be more than ready to go here in a bid to get last weekend out of their system. Complacency certainly won’t be an issue following that Augsburg defeat and Hamburg will have their work cut out to restrict the visitors.

Expect Bayern to play with urgency and a lot more conviction, controlling the play as much as possible. Three points should come their way against vastly inferior opposition and backing them to win by at least two clear goals over Hamburg should be favoured.

Hamburg vs Bayern Munich tip: Bayern Munich to win with -1 handicap
