Last season, Grimsby Town were often entertaining to watch as they eventually finished just two points outside of the top seven and the playoff places, despite having a goal difference of -6. Former Crewe Alexandra David Artell has proved himself at this level before and he remains in charge of a potentially exciting Mariners side.
They take on a Crawley Town that played some brilliant football to win the League Two playoffs in 2024, but then, due to their bizarre ownership, had their squad and manager gutted last year. That manager, Scott Lindsey, has since returned alongside some of their talents that had departed, too, as the Red Devils seek to go again.
Crawley’s success was always a surprise anyway so repeating it will be tough, but the style can be repeated and that should lead to some fun watches for the neutral.
