Girona Preview: Struggles in Catalonia
Michel said at the start of this season that Girona would have to struggle this season after they lost so many key players last summer. However, the Catalans, after a bright-ish start to the campaign, have now drifted down in La Liga and are closer to the relegation battle.
The home team rescued a point against Catalan rivals away from home against Espanyol the other day with Cristhian Stuani scoring an 88th minute penalty. That frustrating result means that Girona are now winless in their last five matches in La Liga.
Valencia Preview: Improvement under Carlos Corberan
Since being appointed on Christmas Eve, former West Bromwich Albion boss Carlos Corberan has done a very impressive job at Valencia as Los Che climb out of the bottom three and the relegation places ahead of this weekend’s round of fixtures.
The Valencians defeated Segunda-bound rock-bottom Real Valladolid by two goals to one at Mestalla last weekend with Diego Lopez and Umar Sadiq scoring the goals either side of a Juanmi Latasa equaliser before half-time for Valladolid.

Valencia Team News: Couple of injuries
Carlos Corberan has been able to get the best out of some impressive senior players such as Giorgi Mamardashvili, Javi Guerra and Jose Luis Gaya. They have a couple of injury doubts for the trip to Catalonia, such as Thierry Correia and Hugo Duro.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Mamardashvili; Foulquier, Carlos Tarrega, Cristhian Mosquera, Jose Luis Gaya; Javi Guerra, Barrenechea; Luis Rioja, Almeida, Diego Lopez; Sadiq

Girona vs Valencia Prediction
These two sides are trending in the opposite direction. Girona going down remains very unlikely and they do have a seven-point gap between themselves and the danger zone but performances have been worsening and results are dramatically poor. Valencia, on the other hand, have only lost to Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Real Madrid in Carlos Corberan’s 13 matches in charge across all competitions. Given the form of the two sides, siding with Valencia looks the way to go for this one.
Girona vs Valencia Tip: Double chance – Valencia to win or draw
