Getafe preview: Steady Getafe

Jose Bordalas' Getafe begin this weekend's round of fixtures sitting firmly in the middle-of-the-table. That is because of a much-needed much-improved recent run of form, collecting five points from their last three matches in La Liga.

After back-to-back draws against Girona and then Celta Vigo, Getafe then managed to defeat Deportivo Alaves by two goals to nil in the Basque Country last weekend, courtesy of second-half strikes scored by Luis Vazquez and Mauro Arambarri.

Villarreal preview: Top four Villarreal

Villarreal were slipping towards the chasing pack but the Yellow Submarine have re-established themselves in the top four in La Liga, under the management of former Athletic Club and Valencia boss Marcelino.

The visitors hammered Espanyol by four goals to one at El Madrigal last weekend, courtesy of goals from Georges Mikautadze, Nicolas Pepe and Alberto Moleiro, as well as an own goal scored by Jorge Salinas.

Getafe team news: Mario Martin out

Crucial central midfielder Mario Martin, formerly of Real Madrid, is now a confirmed injury absentee for this weekend due to an ankle issue, while Borja Mayoral is also unavailable.

Predicted XI (3-5-2): David Soria; Domingos Duarte, Djene, Abqar; Kiko Femenia, Javier Munoz, Luis Milla, Mauro Arambarri, Juan Iglesias; Luis Vazquez, Martin Satriano

Unavailable: Davinchi (Injured), Mario Martin (Injured), Kamara (Ineligible), Borja Mayoral (Injured)

Questionable: Juanmi (Injured)

Villarreal team news: Couple of doubts

Villarreal head to the Coliseum with a couple of fresher injury concerns as Thomas Partey is potentially sidelined alongside club captain Gerard Moreno.

Predicted XI (4-4-2): Junior; Santiago Mourino, Pau Navarro, Veiga, Sergi Cardona; Buchanan, Gueye, Dani Parejo, Alberto Moleiro; Pepe, Mikautadze

Unavailable: Costa (Injured), Kambwala (Injured), Foyth (Injured), Alfon (Injured), Pau Cabanes (Injured)

Questionable: Partey (Injured), Gerard (Injured)

Getafe vs Villarreal prediction

Villarreal will head to the Coliseum expecting to build on the discovery of their recent improved run of form. Getafe are a very determined but extremely defensive side and they will set out to simply frustrate the visitors but an away win, in a likely low-scoring encounter, remains the likeliest outcome for this one in the Community of Madrid.

Getafe vs Villarreal tip: Villarreal to win & under 3.5 goals
