Germany have arguably been the most impressive team in the tournament so far this summer as they head into a heavyweight semi-final against a strong French side.

Coming through as group winners in a tough group that included defending champions England, who they defeated in their final group game, the Germans reached the semi-finals with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Italy in a game in which they trailed late on, conceded deep into stoppage-time and then snatched it late on in extra-time.

The French do not have the best squad available to them for this tournament but it remains a strong side. They finished as runners’ up in Group C to Portugal and then themselves got involved in a thriller against Denmark in the quarter-finals whereby they went behind twice and then scored two late goals to win the tie.

Both Germany and France have been the most entertaining and arguably chaotic teams to watch this summer and a high-scoring semi-final would appear a good bet for this one.
