Julian Nagelsmann remains in charge of Germany as they go through an evolution up and they continue that with a home game against Bosnia-Herzegovina this week.

Germany Preview: Evolving Die Mannschaft

Germany’s evolution has been a bit of introspection and also a bit enforced with the international retirements of Manuel Neuer, Ilkay Gundogan, Thomas Muller and Toni Kroos since making the quarter-finals of UEFA EURO 2024.

They have dominated their group in League A and will guarantee quarter-final qualification with a victory in this one against Bosnia-Herzegovina. They defeated arch-rivals the Netherlands by a goal to nil last month.

Bosnia-Herzegovina Preview: Bosnian issues

Bosnia-Herzegovina being in League A seems extremely bizarre given the Bosnians have barely even contended for qualification for a major tournament since the 2014 FIFA World Cup, albeit they did reach the playoffs for UEFA EURO 2024 before losing to Ukraine in the semi-finals.

Bosnia-Herzegovina come into this one on the back of a 2-0 defeat to Hungary in Sarajevo last month and the Balkans have collected just one point from their four games in this edition of the UEFA Nations League.

Germany Team News: MATS injury

Leroy Sane has been recalled to the German national team but Marc-Andre ter Stegen is still out injured due to the patella injury he suffered whilst playing for Barcelona in September.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Baumann; Kimmich, Rudiger, Schlotterbeck, Mittelstadt; Stiller, Pavlovic; Gnabry, Wirtz, Leweling; Kleindienst

UNAVAILABLE: Ter Stegen (Injured), Raum (Injured), Undav (Injured)

Bosnia-Herzegovina Team News: Key defensive injuries

Sheffield United defender Anel Ahmedhodzic remains out injured, whilst fellow defensive duo Sead Kolasinac and Stjepan Radeljic have withdrawn from the squad, too.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Vasilj; Gazibegovic, Katic, Bicakcic, Mujakic; Gigovic, Tahirovic; Bajraktarevic, Hajradinovic, Burnic; Dzeko

UNAVAILABLE: Ahmedhodzic (Injured), Kolasinac (Injured), Radeljic (Injured)

Germany vs Bosnia-Herzegovina Prediction

Germany are beginning to look more like a club side than an international one in term of the tactical cohesion that they have but Julian Nagelsmann is, paradoxically, hurting that a little bit with the amount of rotation he chooses to use. Bosnia are a generally average side that have punched above their weight by even reaching the top-flight of European international football. This one is expected to be a comfortable home win.

Germany vs Bosnia-Herzegovina Tip: Germany to win -1 handicap
