It has been an indifferent start to the 2025/26 Serie A season for Genoa this weekend as they welcome an underperforming Lazio side to Liguria for the fifth match day.

Genoa vs Lazio prediction

Patrick Vieira did very well at Genoa last season but the hosts have collected just two points from their opening four games so far this season. They do, though, come into this one on the back of a comfortable, come from behind 3-1 defeat of Empoli in the second round of the Coppa Italia the other day.

Lazio opted to re-appoint former boss Maurizio Sarri over the summer and it has been a predictably tricky start to the campaign for the former Chelsea and Napoli manager. Their Derby della Capitale loss to Roma at the Stadio Olimpico last weekend means that Lazio have managed one win with three defeats in four Serie A matches.

Lazio are already under pressure and Sarri, after a derby loss, may not be far away from again departing the capital city, and so siding with Genoa appears the way to go for this one.

Genoa vs Lazio tip: Double chance – Genoa to win or draw
