  • Genk are unbeaten at home in their previous five UEFA competition home matches against Spanish teams (W1 D4).
  • Genk have won only two of their last 16 UEFA competition matches at home (D6 L8).

  • Betis won their only previous two UEFA matches away from home against Belgian teams without conceding a goal. Most recently, a 3-0 victory against Gent in the first leg of last season’s UEFA Conference League knockout play-off round.
  • Betis have lost only two of their last 13 UEFA competition matches (W7 D4).
  • Betis have lost only three of their last 14 UEFA Europa League group/league matches (W9 D2).

Genk vs Real Betis prediction

Genk sit eighth in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League table after a frustrating 2-2 draw with Cercle Brugge at the Janbreydelstadion at the weekend. They started their UEFA Europa League league phase with a 1-0 win against crisis club Rangers at Ibrox before being beaten at home by Robbie Keane’s Ferencvaros a few weeks ago.

They face a Real Betis side that reached the final of the UEFA Europa Conference League last season, under the management of Manuel Pellegrini. The Andalusians still have a strong squad as they come into this one on the back of a 2-2 draw with Villarreal, making it just one defeat in 11 matches across all competitions so far this season.

Betis appeared to have finally cracked European football last season and, up against a struggling and faltering Genk side, they would have to be viewed as firm favourites here.
