Gambia vs Somalia Prediction
The Gambia come into this one on the back of back-to-back 3-1 defeats in the summer against Senegal and then IR Iran. They finished CAF qualification for FIFA World Cup 2026 with three victories in their final four games last autumn, as well as an entertaining and hard-fought 4-3 defeat to a strong Gabon side.
Somalia are among the weakest teams in African international football, ranked 199th in the world by FIFA. They did reach this stage of AFCON qualifying by defeating Mauritius on penalties after a two-legged goalless draw against the islanders back in March.
Gambia face a tough test to get out of this group given their upcoming opponents but they should still get themselves through to three points in their opener.
