Fulham preview: Mid-table Fulham
As ever, Fulham appear likely to again finish firmly in the middle-of-the-table in the Premier League this season as they continue to naturally stagnate a bit under the management of former Hull City and Watford boss Marco Silva.
The Cottagers come into this one on the back of back-to-back 3-1 defeats to Aston Villa and then AFC Bournemouth before the break in games in which they took the lead at both Villa Park and then at the Vitality Stadium.
Arsenal preview: Impressive Arsenal
Arsenal, coached by Mikel Arteta, have spent heavily once again this summer to try and build a squad, which they now appear to have, which can fight on all four fronts and finally break their trophy duck.
The Gunners begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting at the top-of-the-table with 16 points collected from their seven matches. They eased past West Ham United by two goals to nil at the Emirates Stadium a couple of weeks ago.
Fulham team news: Several issues
Antonee Robinson has endured a tough start to the campaign and now the United States international is once again sidelined for the Cottagers alongside both Sasa Lukic and Rodrigo Muniz.
The hosts are also expected to be without Samu Chukwueze due to an injury sustained on international duty, whilst both Kenny Tete and Raul Jimenez are also major doubts for the hosts.
Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Leno; Diop, Andersen, Bassey; Castagne, Reed, Berge, Sessegnon; Wilson, Iwobi; King
Unavailable: Robinson (Injured), Lukic (Injured), Muniz (Injured)
Questionable: Tete (Injured), Chukwueze (Injured), Jimenez (Injured)
Arsenal team news: Odegaard out
In his pre-match press conference, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Norway international midfielder Martin Odegaard is unavailable for 'weeks' due to a fresh injury issue.
As well as the absence of Odegaard, Ben White missed training on Friday, whilst both Piero Hincapie and Maryin Zubimendi are expected to be fine despite recent slight concerns over their fitness.
Predicted XI (4-3-3): Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Rice, Zubimendi, Merino; Saka, Gyokeres, Eze
Unavailable: Odegaard (Injured), Madueke (Injured), Havertz (Injured), Jesus (Injured)
Questionable: White (Injured), Hincapie (Fitness)
Fulham vs Arsenal prediction
Fulham will head into this one with their usual motivation and aggression when they come up against one of the leading and bigger sides in the Premier League, where their performance level is often better. They face an Arsenal side that head across to Craven Cottage with their newfound depth meaning they can rest and rotate if they so choose, and they would have to be marked out as favourites regardless of what team they put out.
