Heading into the final round of pool stage fixtures, France boast the tightest defence in the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup having conceded just five points in victories over Italy (24-0) and Brazil (84-5).

However, that rearguard resolve will be put to the test here against South Africa, who booked their first ever quarter-final place with a fine 29-24 triumph over Italy in York last weekend.

The Springbok Women have been something of a surprise package in the tournament, given their lack of global success compared to their male counterparts, but the fact they have advanced from Pool D will do wonders for their standing in the game.
