France vs England prediction

France’s Women’s Rugby World Cup hopes were looking like they could be dashed when they were 13-0 down to Ireland at half-time last weekend, but they staged a superb comeback to win the quarter-final 18-13 in Exeter.

Having been one of the standout defensive sides in the pool stage, France certainly displayed some vulnerability against Ireland, and they will need to step it up a gear if they are to hold off the challenge of the tournament hosts here.

England were far more comfortable in their own last-eight clash, outclassing British rivals Scotland in the Bristol rain. The Red Roses recorded a record 31st consecutive Test victory with that 40-8 win, and the two-time world champions will now have their sights set on reaching the final in Twickenham.

England have won the last 15 meetings between the two sides, although France did get to within a point of them at this year’s Grand Slam decider at the Six Nations.

However, they also faced off in a World Cup warm-up match last month, with England winning comfortably 40-6. This may be a little closer with France having impressed at this tournament, but the hosts should be able to cover a decent handicap.

France vs England tip: England to win with -15 handicap
