France vs Azerbaijan prediction

The Didier Deschamps era is due to come to an end at the end of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the French may be keen for that with unconvincing performances continuing. Last month, the French defeated Ukraine by two goals to nil in Poland before they then had to come from behind to edge past Iceland by two goals to one with a very unconvincing performance in Paris.

They now face an Azerbaijan side that have been drifting for the last half a decade or so after improvement in the mid-to-late-noughties. The Azeris have collected a point, a shock draw against Ukraine, in their two matches thus far.

Azerbaijan did manage a solid performance against the Ukrainians, but the French have to be viewed as firm favourites for a heavy and handsome victory.
