Canadian outfit Forge finished at the top-of-the-table in the CPL and they are generally the dominant force in the Canadian Premier League, under the management of Bobby Smyrniotis, as they prepare for their fourth entry into this competition.
They now face a Tigres UANL side that qualified as a result of being one of the three Mexican sides pushing towards the top end of the Liga MX table. Guido Pizarro’s side are expected to go deep into the CONCACAF Champions Cup.
The Mexicans are by far the better of these two sides with a lot more continental pedigree and ‘The Tigers of Mexico’, as they are nicknamed, are firm favourites.
