THE PREDICTION
The first leg of the Spanish Segunda promotion play-offs gets under way with Girona facing Almeria and these two sides are relatively well matched. Girona will be looking to take an advantage in this first leg and capitalise on home advantage where they have won seven and drawn three of their last ten home matches. One of those victories came against Almeria where they beat them 1-0 at the start of July so they will take some confidence from that game. Both teams may well have lost some momentum due to the Fuenlabrada/Deportivo saga which delayed the play-offs from taking place but is it the hosts who had the better form after lockdown. Goals are unlikely to flow in this first leg but it is Girona who are marginally favoured if either team do manage to break the deadlock.
